Abstract

The present invention provides a process for cross-linking non-polar polymers in a high-frequency electric alternating field with the use of a peroxide as cross-linking agent, wherein the cross-linking agent used is a peroxide of the general formula: ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl radical containing up to 4 carbon atoms or a phenyl radical optionally substituted by halogen atoms or alkyl radicals containing up to 4 carbon atoms; R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5, which can be the same or different, are hydrogen atoms or, together with the carbon atoms to which they are attached, represent o-phenylene radicals; A is a straight-chained or branched alkylene radical containing up to 5 carbon atoms or a straight-chained or branched alkylene radical containing up to 5 carbon atoms or a phenylene radical and; R.sup.6 is a hydrogen atom or a radical of the general formula ##STR2## in which R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 are identified as above.
