Abstract
A novel alloy comprising bismuth and tin which is characterized by the co-presence of silver and/or antimony. Particularly described is a dental alloy comprising: 1. 30 to 74 weight percent bismuth 2. 19 to 69.9 weight percent tin 3. Either A. Silver in an amount of 0.1 to 5 weight percent; or B. Antimony in an amount of 0.1 to 7 weight percent; or C. Silver and antimony in a combined amount of 0.1 to 7 weight percent, the proportion of silver being not more than about 5% by weight.
