A method and system are provided to allow for the verification that a test, for example a point of care blood test, has been correctly performed. A software application on an imaging device, such as a smartphone, captures specific images at one or more stages of the test procedure, which are processed and analysed to ensure that they correspond to the correct status of the test unit at that stage in the procedure.
