Abstract
The present invention relates to an in vitro method for producing 13CO2 gas from 13C-labeled biomass. The invention also relates to an in vitro method of quantifying 13CO2 gas produced from 13C-labeled biomass, and an in vitro method for determining whether a source of 13C-labeled biomass will produce a predictable amount of 13CO2 gas during in vivo digestion. The 13C-labeled biomass can be 13C-labeled Spirulina platensis in some cases.
