A dielectric layer is disposed over the semiconductor substrate. The dielectric layer includes one or a plurality of lenses. An electrode structure is disposed over the dielectric layer. The electrode structure includes electrodes of an ion trap configured to trap one or more ions in a space above the electrode structure.
