An aerosol generating device may include: a cartridge including a reservoir for storing an aerosol generating material; a heater assembly detachably coupled to the cartridge and configured to heat the aerosol generating material provided from the cartridge to generate an aerosol; and a body detachably coupled to the heater assembly and including a battery configured to supply power to the heater assembly, wherein the heater assembly may include: a chamber in fluid communication with the reservoir of the cartridge; a wick configured to absorb the aerosol generating material supplied from the reservoir; and a heater arranged in at least a region of a side surface of the wick and configured to heat the aerosol generating material absorbed into the wick.
