Abstract
A stator assembly includes a stator core including multiple stator slots, and a stator winding including multiple conductor segments. Each conductor segment includes a bend portion, a first in-slot portion, and a second in-slot portion. Each stator slot includes multiple slot layers including a first side slot layer, a second side slot layer, and intermediate slot layers between the first side slot layer and the second side slot layer. The first and the second in-slot portions of the first conductor segment are respectively disposed in the first side slot layers of the first stator slot and the second stator slot, the first and the second in-slot portions of the second conductor segment are respectively located in an intermediate slot layer adjacent to the first side slot layer of the first stator slot and an intermediate slot layer of the third stator slot.
