Abstract

Provided is an antifouling member that can achieve both low protein adsorptivity and durability. The antifouling member has a membrane formed on a base material. The membrane contains a condensate of a hydrolysate of a silane coupling agent or a condensate of a phosphonic acid derivative. The membrane does not contain a halogen atom. The membrane has a zeta potential of −10.0 mV to 10.0 mV in water. The antifouling member has a value of B/A of 2.0 to 5.0, where A represents a ratio of an amount of C atom to an amount of atom of an element X contained in a surface of the base material in a largest amount in XPS analysis of the base material, and B represents a ratio of an amount of C atom to an amount of atom of the element X in XPS analysis of the membrane on the base material.
