Abstract
Articles which include an electrically nonconductive substrate are provided with an antibacterial finish by sputter-coating the substrate with particles of titanium and at least one further metal such that the coated particles are arranged in various combinations as clusters on the substrate, the particles being electrically conductively connected together within the clusters, and the clusters being arranged on the substrate at a distance from each other in the manner of islands and electrically insulated from each other.
