Abstract
A method of monitoring a microgrid includes receiving a plurality of inputs, using a state machine to determine an output based on the plurality of inputs, and outputting a control signal based on the output. The plurality of inputs include a microgrid-side voltage measurement and a microgrid-side frequency measurement. The control signal is configured to control operation of the microgrid at a point of common coupling between the microgrid and a utility grid.
