The present technology relates to a distance measuring device and method, and a program that enable appropriate calibration to be performed. The distance measuring device is configured to illuminate with light selectively one or more regions as targets for distance measurement among a plurality of regions, and includes a computation unit that in a case where two or more of the plurality of regions are illuminated with illumination light for the respective regions, calculates a distance to the region based on output data output from each pixel of a sensor that receives light from the plurality of regions, the output data corresponding to an amount of light received at the pixel, based on information regarding a contribution rate of the illumination light for the region in light received at the pixel, and based on a calibration parameter for a case where only the illumination light for one of the regions illuminates, the calibration parameter being calculated for the illumination light for each region as a target for distance measurement. The present technology can be applied to a ToF distance measuring device.
