Abstract
A method of increasing the sphericity and roundness of thermoplastic polymer powders, characterized in that the powder grains are first introduced, in a stream of gas, into a device ensuring the breakup of powder agglomerates, then, optionally, the powder is transported to a device ensuring the conditions close to a free fall, then the powder is transported via a nozzle into an optically transparent flow chamber placed within a zone covered by radiation coming from a radiation source, then the powder is allowed to absorb the radiation and the powder is allowed to melt, then the powder is removed from the radiation zone by a carrier gas, then the melted powder grains are allowed to undergo controlled crystallization inside a controlled crystallization chamber.
