The instant disclosure relates to a composition, for sanitizing a surface of skin, including benzalkonium chloride for disrupting a microbial cell in contact with the surface of skin, in an amount ranging from 0.05% to less than 1% by weight of the composition. The composition may also include a silicone surfactant in an amount ranging from 0.01% to 2% by weight of the composition, as well as an additional cationic surfactant.
