A method for producing a power storage device includes an electrolytic solution containing ethylene carbonate and a solvent having a lower melting point than that of the ethylene carbonate, a wound-type electrode body, and a case. The electrode body includes a negative active material layer having a width dimension of 180 mm or larger. The method includes an injecting step to inject the electrolytic solution into the case housed therein with a to-be-permeated electrode body, a waiting step to wait for lapse of a predetermined waiting time, and an initial charging step. A to-be-permeated electrode body forming step is a step of forming the to-be-permeated electrode body placed in advance with a film-forming material for forming a negative electrode SEI film on a negative active material layer in a center portion in an axial direction in the to-be-permeated electrode body.
