The stand elevates a laptop or portable computing device up off a desk or tabletop, reducing neck strain in the user and creating a more comfortable work setting. An adjustable-height stem connects a base and platform. The base also may be used alone, and comprises means for supporting the bottom of a computer stand. The base also may comprise storage space or shelves.
