A performance analysis method is implemented by a computer system and includes obtaining image data generated by imaging a percussion instrument. The performance analysis method also includes analyzing the image data to detect a change in the percussion instrument caused by striking of the percussion instrument. The performance analysis method also includes, based on the detected change, generating performance data indicating the striking of the percussion instrument.
