Abstract
A stopper for closing and sealing an opening in a housing of an energy storage system is disclosed. The stopper includes a connecting region configured to engage with the opening of the energy storage system and sealing region provided along a section of the stopper. The sealing region is provided with a sealing element, a cross-section of the sealing element includes an L-shape. In an installed state, the sealing element is in engagement with a sealing rib which extends upward in the direction of the sealing region of the stopper. The sealing rib is configured to exert a force acting on the sealing element, the force acting at least partially in the axial direction of the stopper. When installed, the sealing element deforms in both a radial direction of the stopper and the axial direction of the stopper.
