Abstract
A naturally derived, safe-to-use microbial material that can contribute to increasing agricultural production by promoting crop growth and increasing yield, while controlling plant disease at the same time. Viable bacteria of a novel bacterial strain of genus Lysinibacillus, or a culture containing the viable bacteria, are used as an active component. The novel bacterial strain may be Lysinibacilus xylanilyticus GIC41 (NITE BP-03464). A plant growth regulator contains the bacterial strain and promotes crop growth and increases yield. A plant disease control agent that contains the bacterial strain is capable of controlling a disease, such as by damping-off.
