Abstract
A light emitting diode (LED) lighting device is provided having a panel forming a shape, the panel having at least one opening. The device further has a frame bounding the panel having a cross-sectional profile in the shape of the panel. A lens corresponds to each of the at least one opening, the lens extending partially through the opening from a back side of the panel to the front side of the panel. The device further includes at least one LED element located behind the lens and a diffuser either between the at least one LED element and the lens or incorporated into the lens.
