Abstract
Provided is a method of preparing a superabsorbent polymer, more particularly, a method of preparing a superabsorbent polymer, in which a cationic polymer is included as a surface crosslinking agent, thereby achieving excellent general absorption-related properties. There is also provided a superabsorbent polymer including a base polymer powder including a crosslinked polymer of a water-soluble ethylenically unsaturated monomer having acidic groups, of which at least part is neutralized; and a surface-crosslinked layer which is formed on the base polymer powder by further crosslinking the crosslinked polymer via a surface crosslinking agent, wherein the surface-crosslinked layer includes a cationic polymer including quaternary ammonium ions in repeating units.
