Abstract
Embodiments of this disclosure may include monitoring, via a circuit, a level of a current, detecting, based on the monitoring, that the level of the current exceeds a threshold, where the threshold is indicative of an occurrence of at least one event, engaging, based on the detecting, a health check in respect of: a first component of a first waveguide device, a second component of a second waveguide device, a portion of a transmission medium between the first waveguide device and the second waveguide device, or any combination thereof, where the transmission medium is utilized to convey a first electromagnetic wave that is guided by and propagates along the transmission medium without requiring an electrical return path, and transmitting, based on the engaging, a report, a signal, or a combination thereof, that is indicative of a health status resulting from the health check.
