Abstract
Methods and systems are provided for local mobile content distribution. A satellite signal may be received and processed, to recover data carried in the satellite signal. A broadcast signal may then be generated and transmitted within a local coverage area. The broadcast signal carries at least a portion of the recovered data, and is configured in accordance with a particular wireless protocol, with the portion of recovered data being processed for transmission via the broadcast signal. The recovered data or portion thereof carried in the broadcast signal may be determined based on information provided by a satellite subscriber and/or demand for particular data in the local coverage area. Information required to facilitate the generating and/or transmission of the broadcast signal may be obtaining from central server associated with one or more service providers.
