Abstract
The technology described in this document can be embodied in a computer-implemented method that includes receiving, at a first acoustic device, a first data stream representing audio signals encoded using a first encoding scheme, and processing, using one or more processing devices, the first data stream to generate a second data stream representing a portion of the audio signals to be decoded at a second acoustic device. The method also includes transmitting the second data stream over a near-field magnetic induction (NFMI) link to the second acoustic device.
