Provided is a method for producing a solid powder cosmetic material having excellent usability, impact resistance, and water repellency with good moldability in a wet process using water as a dispersion medium. The method includes a step of preparing a slurry by mixing a cosmetic base material containing a powder ingredient and an oily ingredient and a dispersion medium containing water and a step of compression-molding and drying the slurry packed in a container. The oily ingredient contains an ester oil that is a liquid at 25° C. and has a molecular weight of 300 to 600 and an IOB value of 0.5 or less and beeswax. The powder ingredient contains a hydrophobic powder.
