A primary device that provides information, the primary device comprising: (a) said primary device configured to provide said information including at least one of: (i) a media playback state for a media identification associated with a media playback state information subscription including at least one of: (1) playing; (2) paused; (3) stopped; relative to normal speed including at least one of: (1) a positive speed value indicating forward playback, wherein said forward playback means a media timeline position increases as wall-clock time increases; and (2) a negative speed value indicating backward playback, wherein said backward playback means a media timeline position decreases as wall-clock time decreases.
