Abstract

A system controls a cyclic motion of at least one body segment of an individual, including:

at least one three-dimensional motion sensor,an attachment attaching the sensor to the body segment of the individual,a processor coupled to the sensor and capable of being carried by the individual, in which a reference cyclic motion and tolerance limits specific to the individual concerning at least one parameter of the motion to be controlled, which change depending on the progress thereof, are stored, the processor being configured to detect the cyclic motion, integrate the measurement data from the sensor in such a way as to calculate the parameter(s) of the motion of the segment and to compare, in real time, the parameter(s) of the measured motion (Ctr) with the parameter(s) of the previously recorded reference motion (Cref) of the individual, anda feedback device coupled to the processor, designed to provide the individual with real-time information on the compliance of the parameters(s) of the measured motion with respect to the parameter(s) of the reference motion.
