Abstract
A method and apparatus for testing the function of a Safe Torque Off (STO) feature for an electric drive. After activation of the STO feature, predefined switching commands are transmitted to power switches of the electric drive. Then a switching state of the power switches is determined responsive to the predefined switching commands. Finally, the functionality of the STO feature is determined based at least upon the determined switching states.
