Abstract
A tension fuse assembly includes an elongate tubular member, and catcher rod. The tubular member has first end portion and an opposite second end portion, and fuse portion is positioned between the first end portion and second end portion. A cross-sectional area of the tubular member is reduced at the fuse portion. The catcher rod has first end portion and an opposite second end portion, with catcher rod being accommodated concentrically within the tubular member. The second end portion of the catcher rod is secured to second end portion of the tubular member. The first end portion of the tubular member is provided with first divergent conical portion, and first end portion of catcher rod is provided with second divergent conical portion. In the event of breakage of tubular member, second divergent conical portion impinges against first divergent conical portion to limit the axial movement of the tubular member.
