The invention described herein also pertains to the treatment of infections arising from implants and prostheses. Bone and joint infections (BJIs) represent a serious medical condition that, if untreated, can lead to complete loss or loss of use of bones or, joints in the patient, and even death. BJIs include many diseases, such as acute and chronic osteomyelitis, including pediatric osteomyelitis, septic arthritis, and others.
