Abstract
Techniques for performing SDN-based mirroring of traffic flows for in-band network analytics are provided. In one embodiment, a computer system can receive minoring configuration information from an agent, where the minoring configuration information includes one or more parameters specifying a flow to be mirrored by an in-band network device of a network and one or more parameters specifying a mirror port of the in-band network device. The computer system can further generate a mirroring command based on the minoring configuration information, where the mirroring command includes a rule indicating the in-band network device should minor the flow to the mirror port concurrently with Layer 2 or 3 forwarding of the flow within the network. The computer system can then transmit the minoring command to the in-band network device.
