Disclosed are an antibacterial composition and a method for producing the same. An antibacterial composition of the present invention contains a biopolymer derived from Eucommia ulmoides as an active ingredient. Such a biopolymer derived from Eucommia ulmoides can be obtained by, for example, biologically decaying Eucommia ulmoides to obtain a decomposition product of Eucommia ulmoides and washing the decomposition product of Eucommia ulmoides.
