Abstract
A system for supplying and treating water for a dishwasher. The system includes electronic control unit (ECU) and an indicator adapted to provide signals or data indicative of the hardness of the water. The control unit controls, and if necessary selectively varies, in predetermined ways, as a function of the water hardness indicated by the indicator, and at least two of the following parameters of the regeneration of the water-softening substances: the quantity of water used for forming the brine used for each operation of regenerating the softening substances contained in said first tank (24), the quantity of water used for washing the softening substances after each regeneration operation, and the frequency of the operations of regenerating and washing said softening substances.
