Abstract
The present disclosure provides a code rate smoothing method for transmitting real-time video in a wireless network. The method may include the following. Make a statistics on transmission delay of a video frame periodically. When the transmission delay becomes smaller, size of playing buffer may be adjusted to be smaller by fast forwarding. When the transmission delay becomes larger, size of playing buffer may be adjusted to be larger by slow playing. Rates of fast forwarding and slow playing may be determined by variation of transmission delay, depth of playing buffer and timestamp information.
