An electrically conducting talc composition may include synthetic talc particulate coated with an electrically conducting coating agent, wherein the coating agent may include carbon nanotubes or an electrically conductive polymeric material, such as a nanocarbon material, such as, for example, carbon nanotubes. A method of making an electrically conducting talc composition may include forming electrically conducting coating agent on or about particles of the talc particle.
