Abstract
A baffle for a noise suppressor for a firearm has a conical section having a proximal end and a distal end. The conical section defines a bore having a longitudinal axis extending between the proximal and distal ends. The bore has a smaller diameter at the proximal end than at the distal end. The conical section has a proximally facing surface facing away from the longitudinal axis and a distally facing surface facing toward the longitudinal axis. A distal shoulder is positioned at the distal end of the bore. The distal shoulder extends circumferentially around the bore and projects toward the longitudinal axis. A proximal shoulder is positioned at the proximal end of the bore. The shoulder extends circumferentially around the bore and projects toward the longitudinal axis. An aperture extends through the conical section. The aperture is oriented to direct a gas jet substantially perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis.
