Abstract

A bicycle damping system is arranged to reduce vibrations that originate at the bicycle wheel and are transmitted to the rider of the bicycle. A bicycle can include a main frame portion, a wheel, and a wheel support. The wheel support can include, but is not limited to: one of a fork, a fork leg, a rear frame portion, a seat stay, and a chain stay. The wheel support can be coupled to the main frame portion at a first end and supporting the wheel at a second end. A damping member can be positioned on an outer surface of the wheel support and a plate can be used to force the damping member into contact with the outer surface. In this way, the system can dampen vibrations introduced to the wheel support by the wheel.
