Abstract

The present invention refers to to a device and a method for transmitting samples (47) of a digital baseband signal (45) of a wireless communication network (11). In order to allow for efficient transmission of the digital baseband signal (45) between a baseband processing device (17) and a remote radio head (13) with less strict timing requirements, a transmitting arrangement (49) for transmitting samples (47) of the digital baseband signal (45) of a wireless communication network (11) is provided, the transmitting arrangement (49) comprising a sample input (51) operable for receiving the samples of the digital baseband signal (45); a local clock (57) operable for determining a current time (t); a timestamp generator (52) operable for generating at least one timestamp (53) depending on the current time (t), the timestamp (53) being associated to at least one sample (47); and an output (55) operable for outputting a signal (S), the signal (S) including the samples (47) and the at least one timestamp (53); wherein the transmitting arrangement (49) is arranged for transmitting at least one baseband signal pattern and for transmitting an indication (r) that indicates when the at least one baseband signal pattern shall be output. Furthermore, a respective receiving arrangement (61) is provided.
