A method for controlling power take-off in a motor vehicle (100; 110): the vehicle having a driveline with a clutch configuration (237), automatic gearbox (240), throttle (270) to control engine (230) speed and a power take-off function (220), the method including the steps of: confirming whether operation of the power take-off function (220) is requested; whether the clutch configuration (237) in the driveline is open; and if the operation of the power take-off function (220) is requested and the clutch configuration (237) in the driveline is open, activating (s440) a power take-off mode, in which the clutch configuration (237) is kept in an open position, even if the speed of the engine (230) is changed via the throttle (270).
