Abstract
A process is disclosed for producing of diethyl ether by dehydrating ethanol in the presence of an inventive catalyst. A preferred catalyst achieves high conversions of ethanol and high selectivites to diethyl ether. The diethyl ether may be used as a solvent, fuel additive, or fuel.
