Abstract
An actuator assembly includes a housing that includes an input interface and an output interface. The assembly further includes a torque generating device coupled to an input shaft. The torque generating device is coupled to the input interface of the housing such that the input shaft is positioned within the housing. The assembly also includes a spur gear that is coupled to the input shaft and a face gear that is positioned within the housing. The face gear is in gear meshing engagement with the spur gear. Additionally, the assembly includes an output shaft that is coupled to the face gear and extends from the output interface. The output shaft is approximately perpendicular to the input shaft.
