Abstract

---

Substantially anhydrous compositions including at least 10% by weight of a C₂ or C₃ mono-alcohol, a solid, organic UV-filter dissolved therein; and an oil portion including one or more oils, the oil portion having an interfacial tension with water of greater than 9 and less than 32.5, where the composition has a volume fraction of oil relative to oil plus C₂ or C₃ mono-alcohol that is about 0.44 or greater, and is substantially free of a mixture of a low-volatility, C₂-C₈ liquid silicone and a branched fatty acid ester of a polyprotic carboxylic acid in a ratio of from about 3:1 to 4.25:1
