Abstract
The invention relates to a separator which has a porous coating which is not electrically conductive and is composed of oxide particles which are adhesively bonded to one another and to the substrate by means of an inorganic adhesive and comprise at least one oxide selected from among Al2O3 and SiO2 on a substrate and in the interstices of the substrate which has fibres composed of a material which is not electrically conductive, characterized in that at least one sugar is present in the ceramic coating.
