Abstract
According to one embodiment, a disk array controller includes a data copy unit and a physical block replacement unit. The data copy unit copies data from a master logical disk to a backup logical disk in order to set the master logical disk and the backup logical disk in a synchronization status. The physical block replacement unit allocates a third physical block to the backup logical disk, before data is copied from a first physical block allocated to the master logical disk to the backup logical disk, when the allocation is changed to the third physical block instead of a second physical block that is associated with the first physical block and is allocated to the backup logical disk.
