Abstract
Polyalkenyl succinimides which can be obtained with a process which comprises:
- a. reacting a reactive medium-high molecular weight polyalkene with maleic anhydride at a temperature higher than 180° C.;b. carrying out the reaction thermally for a time sufficient for having a conversion of the terminal vinylidene groups higher than 10%;c. completing the thermal reaction in the presence of a reaction accelerator consisting of a Lewis acid;d. reacting the reaction product of step (c) with an amine which has at least one primary aminic group capable of forming an imide group.
