A method for configuring a field device (1), a corresponding field device and a corresponding parameterization system provide for the secure transfer of parameter values via a potentially unsafe data link by a control value that is dependent on at least one parameter value of the field device being determined and an output signal is generated. The output signal is output as a current signal via an interface (2) of the field device (1).
