Abstract
A lighting device has a light emitter receptacle, a power connector configured to connect to a power source, the power connector connected to the receptacle, and a communication module. A network of lighting devices has a plurality of lighting devices, each light device including a communications module, and a light emitter receptacle. The network is a wireless, ad hoc network having nodes corresponding to the lighting devices, wherein one of the lighting devices acts as a master node, the master node having a port connected to an external network and a nonvolatile memory.
