Abstract
A 3D camera (10) for monitoring a spatial zone (12) is provided, wherein the 3D camera (10) has at least one image sensor (14a-b) for taking image data from the spatial zone (10), an evaluation unit (22, 24) for generating a distance image with three-dimensional image data from the image data of the image sensor (14a-b) and an illumination unit (100) with a light source (104) and an upstream microoptical array (106) with a plurality of microoptics (106a) to illuminate the spatial zone (12) with an irregular illumination pattern (20). In this respect, the light source (104) has a semiconductor array with a plurality of individual emitters (104a) and the microoptical array (106) has non-imaging microoptics (106a).
