Described are retractable armrest systems including a receptacle, a support bar comprising a first end and a second end, wherein the first end is coupled to the receptacle, and an armrest coupled to the second end of the support bar, wherein the support bar may be adjusted to achieve various armrest positions relative to the receptacle and wherein the armrest may be adjusted to achieve various armrest positions relative to the support bar.
