Disclosed is a system and method for allowing a customer to send payment to a merchant. The method or system may comprise submitting order data from a customer computer to a merchant server. Merchant credentials and order data may be sent to a clearinghouse server. A clearinghouse token URL may be sent to the merchant server. A customer's web browser may be redirected to a clearinghouse gateway using the token URL. A financial institution token URI, may be sent to the customer computer. A customer's web browser may be redirected to a financial institution gateway using the financial institution token URL. A financial institution may be sent to the financial institution token URL. The financial institution token may be sent to the clearinghouse server to validate the financial institution token URL. A payment request may be sent to the financial institution to authorize the financial institution to authorize payment to the merchant.
