Abstract
The invention relates to a device for the negative pressure treatment of wounds comprising (a) a covering material for providing a wound area with an air-tight seal; (b) optionally means for connecting a negative pressure source; and (c) a wound dressing containing (c1) an open-celled foamed material which is wetted with (c2) an ointment base and (c3) a swelling material, and also a process for producing a corresponding wound dressing. In addition, the invention relates to the use of an open-celled foamed material, which is wetted with an ointment base, for application as a wound dressing in the negative pressure treatment of wounds.
